A büntetés-végrehajtási szervezet részt vett az Ideiglenes Biztonsági Határzár első sorához szükséges elemek legyártásában, és a Magyar Honvédséggel közösen részt vállalt annak megépítésében is. A második sor kerítés elkészítése viszont már teljes egészében a büntetés-végrehajtás feladata volt: a második kerítés szakembereink irányításával és összesen 700 fogvatartott munkáltatásával határidő előtt, már 2017 tavaszára befejeződött.

The Hungarian Prison Service Headquarters (hereinafter: HQ) is the central governing body of the organization, and answers to the Ministry of Interior as the government entity in control of the field of law enforcement. The tasks associated with the daily operation of the agency are taken care of by departments controlled either directly by the Director General, or one of the Deputies, depending on the field they are responsible for.
Departments that require the direct supervision of the Director General are directly subordinated via the Bureau. The Deputy Director General for Security and Incarceration is responsible for all the departments associated with the profession itself, while the Deputy Director General for Finance and IT controls the operation of the departments taking care of, for example, financial issues or IT. Each department is managed by a head, who is usually a senior officer.
